DVD Review MY SUCKY TEEN ROMANCE (BLU-RAY)  This one got a lot of buzz because writer/director Emily Hagins was just 17 (or 18 depending on what you read) when it was made. That sort of overshadowed the film itself. Sure, My Sucky Teen Romance is often uneven and amateurish in spots - and shows the limitations of a rookie director without much capital - but if you look through all of that the result shows a fresh, creative filmmaker with a keen eye for the genre and a whole helluva lot of promise.
