In a film filled with a gaggle of talented, raw performances it is the intensity of David Thewlis in the coarse lead role that consistently propels Mike Leigh's Naked, commanding our attention to every sarcastic, caustic, brutal and philosophical utterance he delivers. Criterion's Blu-Ray transfer of Leigh's controversial 1993 release is lovely in its starkness, besting their 2005 SD disc by leaps and bounds.
Highly recommended.
