The infamous stoner duo Cheech and Chong are back and animated in a new feature-length film. After all these years, the iconic Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong are still smokin' strong and have also baked up a bag full of songs for the film's soundtrack, which will be available through all digital retailers beginning April 9th from Ode Sounds & Visuals, distributed by The Orchard. In addition to the soundtrack, the two are blazin' in an animated and celebrity-studded music video for the album's track 'Cheech and Chong Anthem (WEed Are the World(TM)),' featuring animated cameos from the likes of Kid Cudi, Whoopi Goldberg, Wiz Kalifa, George Lopez, Bill Maher, B-Real, Willie Nelson, and many more.

Los Angeles, CA...(March 28, 2013) - The infamous stoner duo Cheech and Chong are back and animated in a new feature-length film, aptly titled Cheech & Chong's: Animated Movie, premiering at an exclusive, invite-only VIP green carpet event on April 17th at the legendary ROXY Theatre in Los Angeles. After all these years, the iconic Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong are still smokin' strong and have also baked up a bag full of songs for the film's soundtrack, which will be available through all digital retailers beginning April 9th from Ode Sounds & Visuals, distributed by The Orchard. In addition to the soundtrack, the two are blazin' in an animated and celebrity-studded music video for the album's track "Cheech and Chong Anthem (WEed Are the World(TM))," featuring animated cameos from the likes of Kid Cudi, Whoopi Goldberg, Wiz Kalifa, George Lopez, Bill Maher, B-Real, Willie Nelson, and many more, available April 15th. The album's single "Medical Marijuana Blues" is available today on iTunes.



Cheech & Chong's: Animated Movie is directed by Branden Chambers and Eric D. Chambers and will be released to a limited number of theatres on April 18th, just in time for the appropriate 4-20 "holiday." Cheech and Chong have another hit with this movie that brings to life their comedy and characters from their Ode Records GRAMMY Award winning albums . The animation for the film, produced by Lou Adler, Branden Chambers and Eric D. Chambers, was produced entirely at Los Angeles-based Chambers Bros. Animation. The soundtrack for this smokin' film will feature nine new, high-lariously funny tracks produced by legendary and original Ode Records producer Lou Adler and Dominic Kelly, Eric D. Chambers, Branden Chambers and Paris Chong. Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong have recorded a special commentary for each track, which will be available exclusively through Spotify. The DVD/Blu Ray from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment of the feature-length film will be available beginning April 23, through all retailers.

ABOUT CHEECH AND CHONG
With nine albums released from 1972 through 1985, the duo was nominated for four GRAMMY Awards, winning the GRAMMY Award for Best Comedy Abum with their third album, Los Cochinos, released in 1973. Big Bambu, their second album, was the biggest selling comedy record of all time in 1972 and remained so for many years. Their stunningly successful comedy streak transitioned to film in 1978 with their first movie, Up In Smoke the highest grossing comedy of the year, topping $100 million at the box office.
